El Sínodo del Caribe de la Iglesia Evangélica Luterana en América ha comenzado un período de reflexión y evaluación que le ha de tomar todo el año 2012. La meta principal es que para el mes de octubre de este año las Congregaciones, Áreas, Distritos y Sínodo hayan confeccionado un Plan Estratégico Misionero que nos proyecte para los próximos cinco años. Visualizamos una nueva Iglesia Evangélica Luterana en el Caribe, con un profundo compromiso con la evangelización y el mensaje de la gracia de Dios.

Nuestras Islas, unidas por el amor y la confraternidad cristiana, están comprometidas con ayudar a mejorar la calidad de vida de las comunidades en las cuales servimos. Es por ello que nos sentimos llamados a realizar un cambio profundo en los ministerios y organizaciones, para responder con la fuerza del Evangelio a los retos del Siglo XXI. No podemos permitir que el mundo secular nos dicte las pautas a seguir en la proclamación del Evangelio. Nuestro compromiso de evangelizar se ha de afirmar todos los días por medio de los ministerios que poseemos en las congregaciones y las Organizaciones Fraternas.

Dios es quien nos sigue llamando a ejercer el mandato de "ama al Señor tu Dios por sobre todas las cosas y a tu prójimo como a ti mismo". Ese amor tiene que darse por completo, nos enfrentaremos a situaciones delicadas, pero encontraremos la energía que nos regala Dios por medio de la fe.

La labor misionera tiene que cimentarse en el respeto y en una oración que nos invite a la acción, desde las congregaciones hacia la comunidad; desde las comunidades hacia la sociedad. Nuestra Identidad Luterana se afirma por medio de nuestras acciones diarias, las cuales afirman el Evangelio de Jesús el Cristo.

Les invito a orar, estudiar la Palabra de Dios y a acompañarse mutuamente. Somos una sola Iglesia.

The Caribbean Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has begun a period of reflection and evaluation that will take the whole year 2012. The main goal is that for the month of October of this year the Congregations, Areas, Districts and Synod will have made a Strategic Missionary Plan that projects our church for the next five years. We visualize a new Lutheran Evangelical Church in the Caribbean, with a deep commitment with the evangelization and the message of the grace of God.

Our Islands, united by the love and the Christian confraternity, are committed with helping to improve the quality of life of the communities in which we serve. It is for it that we feel that we are called to carry out a deep change in the ministries and organizations, to respond with the force from the Gospel to the challenges of the XXI Century. We cannot allow the secular world to dictate us the rules to continue in the proclamation of the Gospel. Our commitment of evangelizing must be affirmed every day by means of the ministries that we possess in the congregations as well as through the Fraternal Organizations.

God is who continue calling us to exercise the command to "love your God for on all the things and your neighbor like yourself". That love has to be given completely, we will face delicate situations, but we will find the energy that God gives us by means of the faith.

The foundation of the missionary work has to be laid in the respect and in a prayer that invites us to the action, from the congregations toward the community; from the communities toward the society. Our Lutheran Identity is affirmed by means of our daily actions, which affirm the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I invite you to pray, to study the Word of God and to mutually accompany one another. We are a single Church.
